It was an exciting game opener, but SGMS cam up short against a talented and well coached Bellizi's team which effectively utilized their starting ace, Caleb Federman, to their advantage. Hats off to Caleb's pitching performamce and two-run homer in the first inning to get things started. Dermot McDonough was outstanding on the mound late in the game and earlier behind the plate for SGMS and contributed at the plate with a screamer which hit the centerfield fence, a walk and also had some nice hustle around the bases. Will Vagianelis contributed some nice defensive plays at first base and behind the plate and had a big hit into the outfield early in the game against Federman. Luke Andres was steady on the mound and drove in the sole run for SGMS. Matt Tiberia and Kyle Lewis both had strong first outings on the mound and Kyle also contributed one hit and one walk. Colin Roche brought his bat and contributed two hits and one walk for the night. Nick Burby and Nick Marshall also showed some batting discipline by drawing some walks at important moments during the game. All in all a solid first game effort by SGMS and we are looking forward to our next game.
